affordable torque wrench suggestions

I am looking to add fork gaiters to the Bonnie and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a decent torque wrench for the job that I don't have to sell my car to afford.

The torques for the job vary from 9nm for the fenders to 60nm for the axle nuts. Do I get a wrench that measures foot pounds or inch pounds for this job? Will one wrench do this? Thanks

You'll probably need 2. Both need to read "NM - Newton Metres". Sears Craftsman, a 3/8" drive for the 9nm, and a 1/2 for the 60nm.

For light hobby work you can't beat stuff from Harbor Freight.

I got a clicking torque wrench at Autozone for around $25. It works fine and is probably more accurate than the needle type. The ones they had a Sears were at least $80, but probably better quality.

Got a kobalt from Lowe's (Jimmie Johnson's favorite tools) it does Ft Lbs, In lbs and Nm. 3/8 drive was $69.00 and the half inch drive was the same price

I would rather be riding my motorcycle reflecting on God's Creation, than sitting in church bored to death thinking about my motorcycle.

Do what I did and drive around to all the dealerships in your local area and scout out the mechanics and see if any of them look like Crackheads and offer them $100 for their Snap-On Torque Wrench! As a matter of fact offer them a thousand bucks for the whole Snap-On roll-away chest and ask them to help you get it into your truck!

The Sears unit I use most covers 10 to 75 ft/lbs and is also graduated in nm 15 to 100 I think. It's 3/8 drive, about 50 dollars I think and while it won't do some of the light items, such as the cam caps, it covers most things.

I just use a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter for the wheel nut and bolts instead of a different wrench when I need 24 mm sockets and 60 nm. and then for the light stuff I have a 1/4 drive Sears or Parks unit for the (9nm type stuff, cam caps, etc).

I went the other way I guess from CYNCzr. Both work, and Sears stuff is good.
