Exhaust Pipe "Bluing" Question

Should the natural heat discoloration on the exhaust pipes be consistent both in discoloration and the length to which it extends on the
pipes?
I have 1250 miles on the bike and although it runs fine my right side pipe has more and longer discoloration than the left one. I was concerned that one cylinder might be running hotter than the other. Anyone else notice this or am I just being paranoid? I suppose it could just be the vagaries inherent in the 2 different pieces of steel.
Appreciate any thoughts or experiences.

The right one is more purple and goes lower. The left is shorter with a more blue-gold hue...Both look great, I need to get more to get some more colour, and it looks like it will be nice this weekend.

And yes, I am talking about my pipes....

If you are using 89 octane gas, that is why. The 9 octane is going into the left bank and only 8 into your right making it run uneven and hotter.

pipe blues

I have the same condition.
I have also noticed, and this is probably the cause, that when the bike is idling all the gas, or at least most of it, is coming out the right pipe. Hardly anything comes out the left.
Check it out.
There's something happenning with the balance pipe underneath the bike.
Also, does anyone know what the hex head screws are half way down the pipes?

Question Pipe screws

I think they are for 02 sensors now or in the future? They are ugly & tend to gather bluing more?

i have no answers on the original question but I have another question on the issue. Is there a good way to clean/polish the pipes. Everything I use tends to fog or add a film to the pipe.
