Scrambler tires for the rainy season??

I know, yet another tire thread. When I replaced the god awful Bridgestones I did a search on here and it was between the Tourances and the Anakees and I went with the Anakees because I liked the look just a little better. The improvement in handling was astounding. I only went off-road once with the Bridgestones once and that was pretty much because I could but I don't have the off-road skills so she will probably never again see more than a dirt road.

I am from New England but now live in Florida so I can sympathize with all of you who spend winters just waiting to ride because I remember those days all too well. I've already gotten way more miles out of the Anakees than the Bridgestones but the rear will need changing again in the next few months and since I can ride year round in Florida I don't have or want a car and handling the twisties is, unforunately, not that much of a concern. The most important concern is a long lasting tire that will handle well in the rain. It can be a pain riding in the rain but it sure beats driving in the snow. The Bridgestones were squiggly on wet pavement even when brand new and the Anakees have been handling the wet weather a whole lot better but any advice on tires for the Scrambler that are outstanding in the rain would be appreciated. The other question is whether it's a must to change brands in pairs or can I wait to change the front since there's plenty of life left in it.

I went from Bridgestones to Anakees and then to street tires.. I've since gone back to Anakees and with them I will stay.

I always change both tyres, when swapping brands, as I don't like mixing tread patterns.
I've had 3 sets Anakees, & I'm presently on my first set of Tourance's. I won't be going back to the Anakee's
The Tourance's are better in every way, on the road, in the dirt, & especially in the wet.
There's nothing wrong with the Anakee's. They are a very good tyre, & light years ahead of the stock Bridgies. But the Tourance's are at least as far ahead again, as the Anakee's. The difference's are not minor, & the Tourance is a clear winner here, by a country mile (IMO)

hmmm. I've heard that, but mostly from those whose opinions I don't don't hold in high regard. I just may have to consider them now. I like that the Anakees last a long time. Let me know how the Tourances measure up in that respect.

Scrambler and Metzlers

Just wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to post info on replacement tires for the Scrambler.

I just wore out my original Bridgestone rear (right at 7,000 miles) and decided to go with a set of the Tourances.

I wasn't really unhappy with the Bridgestones -- that is, until I put on the Tourances. As noted by others here, it is indeed a remarkable improvement.

Thanks again.

My '06 felt like a new bike on the Tourances.

I have about 8000 miles on a set of tourances and they're a little over half worn. Lots of miles to go yet. I wore out the TWs in 3600 miles.

I have been using the Avon Distanzia instead of the stock Bridgestone. They provide the same aggressive off-road appearance but are very street worthy.
