cold blooded Bonneville - help

I have an 07 Bonny Black that is VERY cold blooded. I think the problems started after getting TORS installed. Initially, the bike would suddenly die when idling (it was not the idle speed) So I brought it to the dealer and he took care of it last year. No more dying at idle. Plus I get a nice pop on my exhaust when decelerating that I like. I had a Bonneville America with TORS that did that - so it was a welcome sound. The problem now is that it takes SO long to start. Like 20 or so tries. I live in WI, which doesn't help either. I mean she is a real pig. What do I do now? Is it too rich or too lean? Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem with cold starts.
42 pilots with the mix screws turned out to 2 1/2 turns out help quite a bit
for me.

When she's really cold ....

You might also try pulling the left side cover, and blocking the air intake (either the snorkle or the bellmouth if installed), and crank her over for a couple of seconds. If your problem is lack of enough fuel from the enrichener, this should pull a little extra fuel into the intake tracts.

There is no lack of suggestions for ways to start a stubborn Bonnie. Search this site for 'hard starting', for example, and you should come up with more suggestions than you'll ever have time to try.

I installed the TOR's and like Bonnevillebilly I am running 42 pilots, my bike never fails to start quickly with choke, then choke off after 20 seconds and idles smooth. The 42 pilots did away with the pop on decel.

I also found that 42 pilots helped the "coldbloodedness" ,but when its below freezing, I use the rag/glove in the intake trick.

(I also run rubber bellmouth, unifilter, drilled slides, stock needles, 125's, TORS)
