xenon
I have the xenons, put them in with a rag or glove, don't put your fingers on them and leave a print. should last longer, something about the oils in the prints effecting the life. Worked for me.

Bulb
Just got back from the garage after replacing the 1st xenon w/ the 2nd one in the set. It was fried looking on the outside! The hi beam still worked tho! Will see if the 2nd one lasts longer than the 1st? Says that warranty for life- just send money order for $6.95. I will keep the old one & MAY send it? Will see if the 2nd one lasts? I wonder if it gets too hot in there w/ the lo beam on 24/7 running? Will see? Hope it does OKthis time, as it really does help see better @ nite! Wish me luck! If this one takes a dump- I doubt I will send $6.95, but change over to one of the alternatives.

Good call - I don't know how much "hotter" the xenons run than the standard, but I know this is the case with a lot of halogens (perhaps explaining someones comment that their bulb looked "burnt" on the outside).

Xenon
I was real careful NOT to touch the bulb! Will see how long this one lasts?? As said I will not send $6.95 for 2 more if I have to change them every 2 mo's! Will look into the many alternatives here. I hope this one lasts & the old one took a crap because of defect? I was careful not to touch it. I may have banged the housing to seat the rim tho? That should be ok since it gets a harder beating on some potholes!! I am still wondering the heat thing?
The buld looked cooked on the inside!! If I could ever get a pic on here I would post it!
Will let all know how long this one works! I hope a long time!! It is really nicer - brightness wise! The stock light really sucked!!
