mystery diode on a Scrambler instrument cluster...

I've had my Scrambler for a little over a year and absolutely love her but I have a question I could not find answered in my owner's manual and I am mechanically deficient. There is a diode on the instrument cluster located between the oil pressure warning light and the neutral indicator light and I would like to know what exactly it is in case it ever lights up. I have a Triumph alarm on the bike and I've never seen this thing light up. An answer from one of you tech gurus would be greatly appreciated.

If it's blue, it's your high beam indicator.

nope, that's not it

i'm not quite that technically deficient ; - ) ... the blue high beam light is on the left side above the turn signal light... this is a tiny thing that looks like a small l.e.d. sized diode and is on the right side of the cluster right between the oil light and the neutral light... i can see it in the picture of the cluster in the owner's manual but it doesn't say what it is...

This is the warning light for the alarm. It should flash when the alarm is active. Has it never worked? If it doesn't, get your dealer to fix it whilst you still have some warranty left. I assume your alarm works otherwise? They should also have supplied an instruction booklet for the alarm as it includes useful information, including how to bypass the immobiliser should the alarm become faulty. They should also have supplied the shorting plug they removed when installing the alarm incase you should want to remove the alarm for any reason.

I thought it might have been part of the alarm but since I had never seen it illuminate I wasn't sure. The alarm works fine but i'll have the dealer check the indicator at the next service. I have the extra piece but I live on the outskirts of the hood so I'd replace it before I'd ever remove it so a hood rat doesn't wheel this RAT's bike away. I have a center stand but I always keep it on the side stand at home because the alarm is very sensitive and good and loud so I wouldn't want a thieving scumbag to push it off the center stand and drop the bike when she starts wailing. Thanks for the answer PAAS.

the dealer tried to sell me a Scorpion but I do dispute resolution for Ford Motor Company so I insisted on genuine Triumph parts because I wanted to avoid the possibility of a warranty denial due to aftermarket parts.

Now that I know what the light is for I'm wondering if somebody would be able to very carefully remove the seat and disconnect the battery to deactivate the alarm and wheel her away. I'm thinking I'd rather have somebody find out about the alarm the hard way rather than trying to bypass it. Guess I'll dig out the owner's manual for the alarm to see if I may have accidentally deactivated the light. I remember something about a mode for transporting the bike on a ferry so i'll have to do some digging. Either way I'll have the dealer check it out to make sure everything is as working right.
