Exclamation New rear hub design on UK Twins!

I've just been to my local Triumph dealer, and noticed a change on one of the new Bonnies AND new Thruxton. They both had a new design of rear hub. This one has the flanges off set inwards and STRAIGHT SPOKES.

Sorry, no pictures, but it is a very different design. Look out for them.

This is very interesting! I'm curious enough to go see it myself.

sounds like riders that want to swap could possibly get the new hub from a place like bikebandit and relace the stock rim....maybe?

I think the factory should bloody well issue a recall and replace all our hubs, except maybe for you,Jeff, since you were smart enough to get shut of the whole mess of spokes and such altogether. The first time Hinckley has to pay out a 5 million dollar settlement because one of these wheels collapses and kills somebody, the few hundred thousand they would probably have to shell out to satisfy the recall will seem like peanuts.

There's a problem with these wheels, whether some of us choose to believe it or not. There are just too many of us having spoke problems.Personally,I think it's the design of the spokes, which,of course,is dictated by the design of the hub. That big bend in the spokes just allows too much flex in the wheel assembly, finally fatiguing the spoke right at the fulcrum of the nipple.

Even if the factory doesn't see fit to fix them for us,I hope it's an easy retro-fit.

Cheers!
Bruce
