My arms, they are a hurtin! New bars?

O man! My forearms and Elbows are killing me This is after riding for a while on my 08 Bonnie.

I have short arms and I need some bars that are just a tad higher and closer to me, maybe even wider? I Can Ride all day on my old Honda xl500r and not have a problem. I Noticed that they have a little more pull back even though they are just dirt bike bars.

What bars should I get.

Any Suggestions?
Thanks

bars

Dennis,
I would heartily recommend either the risers or the Highlander bars from Bella Corse.
Had much the same problems as you, tried the risers which helped a lot but eventually got the Highlander bars from Sel Motion...(great guys to deal with).
The higher bars did the trick for me...one thing though, you will need longer cables and hydraulic lines....the old stock cables will not make the grade.
If you order the bars, SelMotion can get you the custom cables and lines you need.
You cannot use the risers with the highlander bars without much longer cables as well. You can take a string, stretch it along the existing cables and figure out how much longer they need to be to fit the higher bars.
Good luck
Bill

Thanks all!

Koifarm. What Kind of price did you pay for the bars and all the cables and hydro lines?

prices

I think the bars were $49.95 + $10 for shipping.
The cable set came from New Bonneville. I ordered western bars from NB first, they didn't work but the cables were okay for the Highlander bars. $169+ shipping
I think SelMotion can get the cables as well for pretty near the same cost, might even be a bit cheaper....
Good luck.

you won't need longer cables with the risers, but you might have to reroute the stock cables.

Dude - before you spend one penny of your hard earned dollars on mods try what I did to stop the pain. I simply loosened up the clam shells and rolled the handle bars back about 2" or so and solved my problem!
