Clip Ons For Bonnie?
I'm just kicking around a project in my head for the 904 involving perhaps Thruxton clip ons/triple tree. Has anybody tired putting clip ons on their Bonnie? Also, does anybody have the dimensions for stock bars on a Bonnie?

Don't know if this helps, but I have a set of black clip-ons from a Honda that are 41mm. I believe that 's the same for the Bonnie. I'm thinking you'd need to change the headlight mount to make room on the upper fork tubes for the clip-ons to mount. If you feel like experimenting, you're welcome to 'em for shipping. They are like new, used about 1000 miles. PM me if you want 'em.

99.9% of 41mm clip ons have 7/8'' bars, the bonnie needs 1". They are difficult to find, except for these I have found for you!

Thruxon parts won't work unless you change all your controls to 7/8".

I just finished putting 1" clip on on my bonneville (the bars that Sweat showed the link to). I am really happy with the way it looks.
To get the bars on, I had take the fork tubes off to cut down the headlight clamps. Not that big a deal, but it did get a little involved because I combined a couple of jobs with the project.
One thing to keep in mind, the bars are lower then Thruxton bars. Due to this, the angle of the bars is pretty flat because of reduced tank clearance. Also, I would have liked the bars in a little tighter (shorter), but the brake reservoir butts up against the bar clamps if the controls are in to tight. That said, they are very comfortable. Much more comfortable then the ace bars I have used for the last few years.
good luck,
Simmons

Alternative?
I admit that both Sweat's and Brooksie's clip ons are totally bitchen. I chose an adjustable clubman. The bars and the rearsets together give an nice aggressive posture. Here's a link to some pics: http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-tech...d-of-mods.html
If you dig the bars, I can point you to the manufacturer. Either way...good luck. I really dig cafe' bikes.
Cheers,
SK

These look good, I like the front stance, but you need to bring up your rear to match the cafe look now - saggy asses are for straight backs...
