02 bonneville needle shims and drill vacumn port

after shimming my needles and leaving to 2 already in there on and now finding that stock they don`t have shims ( i`m not origional owner )i will have to go back in and remove the extra 2 .while i`m at it is drilling the vacumn port on the bottom of the slide a good move

what is your setup? stock? pipes? airbox there, or removed?

I drilled my slides and didn't notice much of a difference.

fwiw, my bike with pod filters (airbox gone) and predators ran really rich with 2 shims, 1 shim was better.
