Hagon vs Ikon

Hi everyone, I'm considering some opportunist updating (while US$ is lower and a wheelbarrow of NZpesos is worth slightly more than $1.49): I'm eyeing some shocks for my 01 Bonnie, and wondered if anyone has any opinions or practical experience vis-a-vis the relative merits and quality of standard Ikons or the Hagon BCC012 02BC with chrome springs (which look like old Triumph Gas Girling issues). I'm a big fan of Konis/Ikons, having used them over the years on Guzzis, Sporties, and old Triumphs, and they were 1st choice for my Scrambler, and are performing excellently on that. Big difference is the price: Ikons $350 (=NZ$437); Hagons $218 (= NZ$275), but my question is, are Ikons that much better? Any thoughts would be appreciated - cheers, Pat

I've had both over the years and would never bother fitting Hagons again, I sell IKONs and so may be slightly biased. I would only fit IKONs to my bike. You can get better shocks than the IKON's but then your spending huge amounts.
Last bike I fitted Hagons to was an A10, gave a very harsh ride, I went for them for 2 reasons, thought they looked more original and they were a lot cheaper than the then KONI's, kept them on for a couple of months before buying the KONI's, they were excellent.
