??? on solo seats...
Thinking about a solo seat for my 03 t100. Seems like there are really only three options out there:
1) Corbin, big $$$ and lousy customer service. I'd get one IF I could find one sitting on a shelf somewhere that could be shipped out immediately, otherwise it's about a 2 month wait - untill they realize they lost the order and have to start over therby taking another 2 months.
2) Norman Hyde - Looks good, seems to ship quick. Can get from several places.
3) Triumph's solo seat.
Any pros/cons to these choises or other alternatives?? I've never seen the Norman Hyde or Triumph's. Any clear "winner" as far as fit/finish/quality?
Any suggestions?
Thanks all!

I've got a Triumph solo seat on the way. I'll let you know what I think as soon as it arrives.

I used to have the NH solo. Very comfortable and well made. If you like the look of it it's not a bad option IMO. Came with my bike when I bought it used in 06. I sold it a while ago because I'm just not into the café look personally.

thruxton seat with cowl.
I recently put a thruxton seat on mine with the cowl on it. I really like having the cowl on it to support myself when cornering.

I think Corbins are a fair price, the gun fighter goes for around $300 and if you order a standard style (not custom) they ship pretty quickly.
I'm currently talking with the local upholsterer (Fat Lucky's) about recovering/reshaping my stock seat. They do great work.

I like my Triumph solo seat, for what that is worth. I have the K&Q, the stock seat, and the solo seat, and I use the solo most of the time.

My GF's former Bonnie had a Triumph solo seat. It looked good, was comfortable, but was a bit wide for my taste. It doesn't have an embossed Triumph logo on the back of it, and as I understand it, the NH seat does.

I've ridden on the Corbin Smuggler, the N-H solo, and the Triumph 68 Solo:
The Corbin is lower, narrower, very firm, and very well shaped. It does pass on some vibration, but is pretty comfortable and well suited to persons with a short inseam. The quality is high, but since I did not install it I cannot comment on the fit. Price is $799 from Corbin.
The N-H is beautiful, well shaped, and well made. It is a bit narrower than the stocker, making it better for shorter legs. Nice "Triumph" and "Norman Hyde" embossing on the back. Reputedly comfortable, but a little narrow for me. Price is $399.99 from BellaCorse.
The Triumph 68 Solo looks great, is well made, and is widest of the three. The foam seems more supportive than the stock seat and it fits perfect. I find it very comfortable, with a flat surface and lots of room to move around. The newer "68" version of this seat is embossed with "Triumph" on the back. Price is $238.50 from the Triumph eStore (Hermy's).
These three seats are all pretty good, by my observation. The Corbin is best for people looking for a little easier reach to the ground and a storage location. The best qualities of the Triumph Solo is the wide, flat seating surface and the low price. The N-H sort've splits the difference. Triumph Solo on my '03 T100 below:

Triumph solo seat.
For me it's the best looking of the bunch and comfortable too. I think the newer versions come with the Triumph logo embossed on the back. Mine is circa 2003 and just has a neat tag stitched into the seem to show it's a Triumph item.
Nicely understated.
