It's getting there,,

Thanks innominate,,,
I've gone down a few blind alleys trying to get what I want under me...The bike is well suited to hauling my old butt back and forth to work now that it rides soft enough and the ergo's fit me nicely.... I thinking of repainting it in BRG enamel rather than the metallic paint it now has,,, The look of the Black wheels and hubs is just so 1950.....Cost like heck, but worth it,,,,

That's quite a setup Motorboy -- where did you get that seat and how did you mount it? Really one of the best single seat conversions I've seen.

I always thought the best looking cafe racer seat was the one from mototwin. Does anyone know if these are still available and what is the quality like?

1) Corbin, big $$$ and lousy customer service. I'd get one IF I could find one sitting on a shelf somewhere that could be shipped out immediately, otherwise it's about a 2 month wait - untill they realize they lost the order and have to start over therby taking another 2 months.
I just got a Corbin solo seat and passenger pillion to replace the stock gunslinger seat on my bike, from order to delivery took less than one month.

Thanks Joeswamp,,,,

I found it on Ebay ,,,,it is off a '47 Triumph and is freshly recovered in real leather all for $75...However , that isn't the whole story...
It was being sold by a used cycle parts guy in Indonesia who would only accept Bank Wire Transfers...Ok, I did that plus $25 for shipping and all of a sudden my bank account was frozen by the Feds...Seems that they don't like that due to terrorists moving money through Indonesia...Who knew?
Straighten that all out and sat back and wait for the seat to arrive,,,and waited,,,and waited some more....Took over 5 months....Came Seamail,,,as in container shipment,,, and being from Indonesia, customs took their time checking it out...Oh boy...
I fabricated the seat mounts from 1"x 1/8" flat stock and the chrome springs came off Ebay for ten bucks..It hinges in the front so it flips up to get at the battery...
If I had to do it over,,,I'd spent whatever it would take to have it FedEx to me.... or I'd just go to the "Royal Enfield" motorcycle site and buy a brand new replica for $150...
