Just broke 5K - *insert falling balloons and confetti here*
The bike has been virtually flawless but I am experiencing something new coming from the right side (while seated) when the engine is in gear and running down the road or at stop lights.
It's almost an "after-sound" like the crap after-taste you get from a Diet Coke. The engine purrs away and yet this tinny rattle tails off after the engine and pipe noise (D&D's) roll off upon deceleration.
It sounds like if you took a couple of plastic bb's and shook them in a very small tin can at a fast rate - but it's definitely noticeable enough to hear over wind noise and my pipes traveling at speed or sitting at a light.
I have run my bike VERY hard in all kinds of weather over the past 6 months of ownership - could it be time to pony up for the 6K service early? Is the oil just ragged out or could this be ticking valves? Something loose? If so what typically needs a twist?
Thanks to all -
Mag
