Jeckets scratching tank ....Ideas?

I Noticed my Jacket was scuffing my tank so I Ditched that jacket and bought another to try and keep it to a Minimum but it didn't help.

Its Only right at the area near the seat. Its there anything other than the sixty8 tank pad I Can use for just that area?

Im not real familiar with aftermarket products for street bikes some I Dont know what to look for. Id like something for just that area. Maybe something clear?

I Know Lame gripe..... But I dont want it to get so bad its always on my mind when I look at the bike.

go to ace hardware

and get some low tack transparent shelf paper, and cover the area, with it. I use it where the tank bag sits as any tank bag eventually will affect the paint.

My tank is scratched up from my tank bag and from my jacket but I don't care, I plan on repainting the bike when scratching gets bad enough. It seems the factory paint work scracthes up very easily.

yes. I agree.

the paint work does seem to mark easily from getting on and off the bike.

every now and then I give it a polish

it's not as if I've got a beer gut thats hanging down on the tank

Mine's even showing fine cracks in the duco.
I thought Triumph had used a cheap paint deliberately, so that these retro bikes get an aged patina to their paintwork, prematurely.
My Street's duco looks a lot tougher.

How about a tankpad?

You see these more often on sport bikes, but it may be the thing you're looking for.
They are available clear, like this one, and you could cut it down if you only need to cover a spot at the back of the tank.

Just about any Honda, Kaw or Suzuki motorcycle shop should have them on the shelf.
