Aren't they the same thing? The British say "windscreen" and the Americans say "windshield". I suppose the Brits are correct since they invented the language

Screen
Gotta translate. Are you refering to a "Fly Screen" or a "Windshield"? A big difference in looks, performance, & whatever? Full time or quick release?

Hard to say, there are small 'uns [fly screens] or big 'uns [touring screens/fairings], better protection from a touring screen but can look bulky and out of place on a bonny [look better on an Electraglide], flyscreen looks more in place but offers only a bit of protection from the elements. At the end of the day it is up to what turns you on.

I am looking for something that is functional, can be quick release, and offers good protection. Oh yea, as an added bonus looks good too.
Thanks so far for the information.

windscreen: you can look over it; windshield: you look thru it.
I MUCH prefer the windscreen. You can adjust the rake so that the wind blows over your head. That way you're protected from the turbulence you'd get without a windscreen or windshield. However, with the windscreen, the air goes over your head, and you can still get unobstructed vision. Of course you still wear eye protection, though I simply wear my normal glasses.
Windshields get hit with bugs, roadspray, etc., that quickly obstruct your vision.
My main reason for using a windscreen is to avoid the effects of the wind when you're running at 70+ mph.

It costs more, but does so MUCH more...now looks is in the eyes of the beholder--what one likes another dislikes. However, for the Bonnie, the Parabellum Scout fairing is simply the best available.

I have a National Cycle Windshield, its a Deflector Dx model. It's easy to mount and it can be removed in about 10 seconds. It's adjustable so you can set the angle to what you like.
