Front fender pinstripe tape or paint?

Taking some inspiration from Koifarm's picture of an old Triumph, Texacat's Scram (and TB100's inspirational fender work) I want to stripe the front fender on my Scrambler with red and gold pinstripe. I've read somewhere here that it can be done with pinstripe tape, wide red and thin gold stripe. Does anyone have experience with this process? Is it easy and does it last? Where do I buy the correct tape? Or should I just get someone to paint it? Thanks,
Rich

Auto parts stores sell the tape. Be sure the paint is clean.
Good part -
You can remove it and try again if you don't like it.
Bad part -
oil gas brake fluid etc can make the tape come loose.

You can always use it to figure out what you like and then have a pro do the striping for real.

This was done with tape. It's been over a year now and has held up great. Not the best picture but it's silver and has a double strip, one thinner than the other.

I use to have a blue/white scrambler and did what you're thinking. A 1/4 blue stripe on the beveled/raised part of the front fender and a 1/8 or 1/16 gold stripe on both sides. There should be a pic of it somewhere on the site. Heres a double pinstripe i put on my bonne.

Just wipe it down w/ an alcohol pad and tuck a small amt of the pinstripe under the fender for a clean look.
