Any1 know the REAL story behind the many TORs versions?
Over the years there seem to have been several versions of TORS for the cruisers. 3 seems to be the likely number, and they have been described from very quiet to very loud with some being straight thru like my TB pipes and others with a series of offset baffles like the stock pipes.
But most everything thats been said has also been contradicted. So i was wondering if anyone really knows the true facts on how many versions have been made, how each one rates in volume, and how to tell them apart, or in other words models numbers or names etc.

As far as sound goes, if you compare them to the stock pipes, their sound is a 10. But, if you compare them to other aftermarket pipes, it is more like a 3.
(It also depends on your level of deafness...)

3...!?!
All I knew about was the 2 on the Bonnie - Brit TORs and Thi TORs. And they sound different, same part number?
Ron a buddy rider, had a warranty replacement issue, till he got a matched set, and preferred the Brit.
But they both whistle-tweet to my ear.

I found an older set - they are straight through pipes -some call them the "shorty" TORS cuz they are a bit shorter than the newer ones. They are not real loud but seem to perform about the same as the D&D pipes on my bike. Neat-quiet performance-a real "gentleman's express" exhaust.

I was under the impression there were offset baffle and straight thru versions of the long tors, but i wonder if that notion came from the fact the shorties are straight thru? In other words, maybe the longs are all offset baffles and the shorties are all straight thru.

My short slash cut TORs are straight thru. Agree with HiVel.. they're a fairly quiet, yet performance effective set of pipes. I really like them.
