Smile Logged 10,000 miles on my 2006 Scrambler

Just a little report about how well my scrambler has held up these past 2 years. Well, the odometer finally clicked over to 10,000 miles. The Scrambler has performed well! I did encounter a leak at the head gasket at about the 9000 mile mark but that was easily solved - only took me 45 minutes to replace. The only other small problem I have discovered is a low speedwobble (between 50 and 55 mph) on the front wheel. It's not due to tire pressure so it is either an alignment issue or maybe shocks.

Hope everyone gets out there and rides their bikes!

Sorry, cam cover gasket. I bought the gasket at Bike Bandit. they sell all the parts you need.

Thumbs up

It's great to learn that you've had such great results from your Scrambler. Am hoping mine is as trouble-free!

i've hit 12 k in just under a year...

and that includes 5 weeks she was down waiting for backordered parts after an idiot in a cage nailed me... i'm a New Englander living in Florida so i don't have or want a car cuz it is never too cold to ride down here... i'll take riding in the rain over driving in the snow any day... my Scrambler has been pure bliss and is the coolest bike ever... when she's paid off she'll be getting a big sister - a Rocket III touring edition which i'll be test riding in Daytona in a few weeks... keep the rubber side down and wear a helmet so your brain doesn't get scrambled... i don't remember the accident and i was only going about 25 mph but landed on the base of my skull so my helmet may well have saved my life... three weeks from now i'll be on a honeymoon in Jamaica paid for with the modest insurance settlement and will be sending a postcard to the guy who hit me thanking him for paying for the trip and reminding him to not drive like a moron... i used to be a very cautious driver but now i ride like i'm invisible...

rather than tyre pressure are you sure your front isnt cupped? My had an AWFUL wobble at that speed until I shoved on some avons.

I guarantee it.

I will have to check that out! I find it a tad bit dangerous since I'm usually taking turns at about that same speed. Any other suggestions for me to check out? I have to do all my own work because there is no mechanic on my island that will work on Brit bikes.
