The Fedex man brought me a box from NewEnough.com today. When I saw the size of the box, and knowing that it contained 2 tank bags, I figured I might be in trouble.
The Cortech Super Mini is a very nice piece. I really like the design & the quality. It's just too small I think, even for short haul use. The "map pocket" won't hold a standard fold up road map. It would hold a sheet of note paper I guess with hand written route instructions. The interior of the bag won't hold much either. When I really started looking for what I might actually carry in it, I couldn't come up with much. My XL winter gloves sure don't fit. I think I may end up returning it.
The First Gear Silverstone isn't as large as I anticipated either. But it is just enough larger than the Cortech super mini, to make it a usable day bag. Unfortunately, First Gear really blew some design details imho. Instead of a nice nylon rain cover that takes up very little space (like Cortech provides), First Gear has this bulky plastic clear cover. I just takes up too much space in the bag - I'd never carry it. The map pocket is ridiculous. No bigger really than the one on the Cortech super mini - and access to it is awful. The zippers don't seem to work as smoothly as they should. With a little more thought, this could have been a nice bag. But they missed the mark I think - and this one will be going back.
One reason I do buy from NewEnough is that returning an item that didn't work out is never a problem. And they eventually will come up with something that works for me.
So, what's next?
The Cortech Super 14 liter bag might do it. A couple of folks who responded to this thread seem happy with it. It's the same basic design as the Super Mini, but the size is similar to the Silverstone. And it has a couple of additional nice features, like self-storing backpack straps and a glasses compartment. I'm just wondering if the map compartment will be large enough.

The Nelson Rigg SSC-110 Silver Streak is another possibility. Similar in size to the Cortec Super 14, this one appears to have an excellent map pocket, and it does have two nice side pockets. What I don't like about the Nelson-Rigg bags are those long magnet fingers. I've got those knee pads and big Triumph emblems on the T100 tank. From the pictures, I can't see how this mounting system will work on the T100. But we had several responder's to the thread who are staunch Nelson-Rigg fans (including our moderator), so maybe I'm wrong.

There were some other good bags (like Cargo) mentioned here, but I prefer to work within the products that NewEnough carries. That only seems right if I'm asking them to take returns.
So tomorrow I'll call NewEnough and discuss these two bags vs the ones I received today. Most of the time their phone reps are pretty knowledgeable and I've had them give some good advice in the past.
To be continued.

Pauljo -
I just ordered the same mini Cortech and am now concerned. Would the following fit in this bag? cell phone, glasses, wallet, garage door opener, folded map. Thanks.

Yes. That stuff would fit. The map might be folded more than you'd prefer, especially if you want to put it in the transparent map holder. I think you'll be OK though. From past experience, I'm just used to a larger tank bag. The nice thing about the mini is that it doesn't visually "take over" the top of the tank. Try it. You might like it.
I ordered the Cortech Super 14 liter bag this morning. I think, for me, it's the one. The map compartment still might be a bit small, but I really like the overall design of these Cortech bags.

I received the Cortech Super 14 liter bag from New Enough today. That was quick! Just paid standard shipping (I guess FedEx does Saturday deliveries at no additional cost).
I like this tank bag. It's just the right size for me, fits well on the bike, looks good too. The only nitpick is that I'd like a bigger map pocket, but the bag is a keeper. I'll do some pictures soon.

This is to late for you, but maybe for others....
Today I was Walmart and noticed they just started to stock some motorcycle stuff, not much, but one was a Bell magnetic tank bag. So I got one, returns are never a problem at Wmart. Its pretty nice. I think it will work for me quite well. I'ts approx 9W X 11L X 6" high and sits real nice on the tank. 2 of the 7 magnets seem a little weak, but maybe after sitting on the tank for a while, they'll get stronger? It does have a triple tree strap, just for added insurance. No rain cover, but that's OK with me. Riding in the rain is an accident for me, and there are plenty of overpasses around here to duck under. It does have a outside rear pocket (lined) and a inner pocket too. The map pocket is large enough to put a real map in. (it's the full size of the bag)
For my $25, I'm happy.
Even fits nice on the wifes Honda 250 Rebel.

I just got my Classic leather Tankbag from NewBonneville. Both ggRAT and Brent from NewBonneville encouraged me to spend the extra money and get this bag. Wow, it is a sweet bag. It looks like it was made for the Bonneville, and is just the size you need. Simple and elegant bag, no shifting, no fluff, and it just looks like it will last forever. Worth the money!

Hi...I've had the Joe Rocket Manta bag too for about 30 days, and while it looks cool, it has severely damaged my tank clear-coat.
I was meticulous in keeping the contact areas clean, but the little super-magnets just pushed the stiff rubber pads into the tank so hard that it scoured the coating with the tank's buzzing a bit while riding.
I will not ever be using this bag on my Thruxton again, but just thought I'd relate my experience with the bag. I'm glad you like yours though!
Cheers,
BLIGHT
