Good OTD for a T100?

I think I'm going to be pulling the trigger this week on a new Bonnie. I was looking at a sweet T100 today and wanted to get some ideas from the forum on what a good OTD price would be on a T100?

Thanks!!!

Check out www.polarisofchattanooga.com they seem to have the best OTD prices.

Here it is, BTW.

It's not mine yet but I think we're close to hammering something out.

Good looking bike. You might search cycletrader.com and compare prices.

Things to consider: are Triumph offering any accessory incentives?

Are you going to buy accessories anyway and will they install them for free? Usually dealers around here will give you 25% off on accessories bought with purchase and 10% off for the remainder of the first year.

Do they charge for freight, setup and other costs? Those can be negotiated. I NEVER pay them.

Do they charge the state minimum for "documentation" and if not, why? In Ohio I will not pay over the State mandated $100.

If you have a trade in do they charge tax on the full sale price of the new bike if you trade in an old one? In Ohio it is mandatory to charge sales tax on the cost of the new bike- of the county that YOU reside in, not where the dealer is, BUT in many states you are charged tax only on the difference (the value added to you).

If you pay cash will they discount? They should. They turn over their inventory with a minimum of effort and its a turnkey sale from their point of view. It helps to buy in the last four days of the month if it is a big dealer and they have to move inventory to meet monthly sales goals.

Negotiate with the salesman first, but if he has to make more than two trips to the manager, insist that the three of you meet for any further negotiations.

BE PREPARED TO WALK AWAY. It may feel like it is the only bike you will ever love, but there is another one just as nice waiting for you. When you walk away leave your card and tell them that if they change your mind to call you, and that if you haven't found something else by then you will buy from them.

While you may shave a few hundred of MSRP on a 2008, you'll get a bigger actual savings by negotiating on the other items. AND, don't overlook left over 2007s which should be discounted at least $1000 and you can still negotiate on all the other items. And the bikes are virtually identical.

Finally, if you HATE to negotiate, don't. Just pay the freight, make the dealer happy and forget about it. Me. I'd negotiate the price of a loaf of bread if it were within a day of expiration.

Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.

I think we've come to a mutually agreeable price provided they throw in some gimmes that I laid out for them. I understand it's often easier for them to work with the gimmes than with the dollar figures, so I'll flex and try to work with that.

For a 2007 T100, I believe a good price is around $8,000 out the door.

Promotion

Triumph has a promotion on 07s of $1000 in accessories or a low interest rate, less than 4%. Sometimes it varies by dealers but I think it is Triumph promotion. I know Englemotors.com is running it. Never pay freight or setup. I would think 8K OTD with a $1000 in accessories would be a sweet deal.

I paid somewhere around that, there was tax and some other stuff I bought, and I know I did NOT get the rock bottom price that a real hardnosed negotiator could get, however, (and this is the important part) I was happy when I rode away, the dealer seemed happy with the deal, and now it's been a few months and I really couldn't tell you within $400 how much I paid.

The memory of the price you paid will fade quickly.
The memory of a purchased bike are made everytime you look at 'er, and the memory of a deal you missed out on by not acting quick enough is painful.

So, d4mn the torpedoes, full speed ahead, bite the bullet and buy the bike already!
You know you want it!

I paid 8200 for mine OTD. But, it was his last 2007 model and I wanted to get the 3.9 intrest rate on the left over 07s.
