again "yes" on the Sears lift
The Craftsman aluminum lift is working well for me, too. (the $150 one) Above notes on quality is right. Had a cheaper Harbor Freight jack with issues before. Most times you DO get what you pay for.

Manny, Moe, and Jack
PepBoys has a model just like Bonnevillebilly's from sears. $49 bucks last December w/$10 rebate...They also had on display the full on lift with wheel clamp for around $200 to $250...

Get the Sears Aluminum Lift
I read reviews of the cheaper (literally) Sears steel lift and there were lots of negative comments about the poor quality and the hydraulic unit breaking down, so I ponied up for the more expensive aluminum lift. It's made in China like the cheaper lift, but you can tell it's a much higher quality jack just by looking at it. It works very well and has some nice features, such as positive safety stops. Spend the extra $100 for a better tool you'll use the rest of your motorcycling days.

the cheaper $60 Sears lift in reviews supposedly doesn't last. The aluminum lift is nice but pricey. Harbor Freight has a lift that is built like a tank and in my opinion, way more durable than the Sears lift (i have noting against sears/Craftsman, In fact all of my tools are Craftsman tools, just wasn't impressed with their bike lifts.)
here's a link to the Harbor Freight lift: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=2792 looks like the price went up since i bought mine on sale a couple months ago. is still aa great deal and a burly lift. they also have an aluminum lift for $100 more.

Bikelift 1a.jpg
Bikelift 3a.jpg
I recently lashed out and bought this one - Jimy brand, made in China (of course) Aus$400. There are dearer ones around, but this seemed pretty good for the money. However, I've had to modify it to provide support for the front wheel, otherwise it needs a second person to support it while the wheel clamp is tightened. (I haven't finished the mods yet). I also need to get a cheap scissors-type car jack to put under the frame to lift it, then I insert a frame I made up, similar in shape to a centre stand, which locates in the two centre stand holes and supports the bike. It's also very stable when on the stand.
I found that grovelling on my knees, at my age, is not the best!!!!

Center stand clearance?
Hey I noticed that alot of you gents really like the Sears lift. My question is, do any of you have the center stand attached on your bike and if so, does it have to come off every time you lift the bike or can it still be used with the lift? Thanks

I bought this one at Sears yesterday and installed my fork gaitors, IKON progressive springs, and Ohlins 36PL rears today. Great lift, solid and well made; I highly recommend it over the cheaper ones. This one will last me for as long as I'll need a lift.
I don't have a centerstand, by the way.
