get a alcohol pad and clean the area the pad mount to, after a good cleaning, mount pads and tape them as tight as you can and leave overnight. that should make them stick good, no problems with mine so far.

Knee Pads

As said alcohol will do the trick. Dont use anything more causttic for obvious reasions.
I have been toying w/ the idea for sometime of adding them to my BB. I like the original look- just like my 65! I have the fear of the Fla sun baking them into cracked -old tire look?
They are cheap enuff. Only problem is once they are on - its a done deal. There is no changing your ,mind after that point. Still pondering. I have tried to make my Bonne look as classic as possible down to the pre-unit look w/ the chrome cases. People still have a hard time believing its not really an old one. Pics= search capt don. Let me know what you think about adding pads?? It WOULD add to the REAL classic look! It would be a no brainer if I had a scratch or dent there.

Monofiliment or dental floss and a light sawing motion will get them off in a jiffy.

The knee pads come with self stick tape already on them. And yes, they can be removed , if needed, without damage. I thought my Bonnie Black looked better without them until I decided to try them. Man, I wouldn't go back! Love the look. It says "BRITISH"! I'm a perfectionist and one wasn't perfectly straight so I ended up pulling them up a couple of times and resticking them. Once I got them perfect I just pressed them down real good. Never a problem! And I can't see the sun cracking them after time either, seems to be a synthetic type rubber, I don't know but don't think that would be a problem.

Knee pads

I am really thinkin them!! There is a BIG area where they would go that is beggin for a nice big scratch. I was gonna do a sm mural there but decide against. For $65 I am thinkin the knee pads. Yes dental floss will assist in getting them offf- but under will never be the same
Ultra waxed now.Just needs SOMETHING!! If they go on - they are there to stay!! I add things. Dont like to replace them! Will look @ them on a BB again & decide. Wish me luck!!

+1 for MADSS... and don't forget the free shipping.

I approached the pad attachment with some trepidation, not wanting to get them misplaced or uneven. I cleaned the tank with rubbing alcohol (it's just what we had in the cupboard) and then used standard blue masking tape to define the lower, front and rear extremities of the pad. Once I was happy with the tape position, they went on the tank perfectly (and symmetrically as well ). Mine don't provide such a dramatic effect as some others, as they're black on black... but it's just a nice finishing touch that looks great with the gaiters.

Men can accessorize as well, y'know
