WOT —almost

What does it mean when my bike responds better when I am just below wide open throttle? Is my main jet too big or too small? It is an almost imperceptible power gain, but I can feel it when I roll it back—barely. Just a nudge less open than WOT. Thanks.

Yes, I have a snork. I was thinking of desnorking. The rest of the set-up is: TOR's, 42 Pilots, 120 Mains, Uni Filter. Bike runs great—way better than before sans airbox and TBike pipes. Less power at the top-end, but it rides way better everywhere else. I am only interested in moderate power gains, so no need to get into detail about airbox removal etc. Been there, done that.

De snork it & then see how she goes then. It will make a difference!! Mine was the same till I de-snorked it. Gave me that little extra @ WOT. Like a 2nd wind just before the limiter!!

yup, go up a size or 2. A rule of thumb is go up until it runs worse, then go back a step.

Isn't that the rule of thumb for tightening a bolt. Turn it until it snaps then back off a quarter turn.

Nah, that would be the opposite like, going too small till the engine overheats then seizes.Your better off running a little too rich than a little too lean. The worst that can happen from running rich is fouling plugs and suffocating greenies with pollution.Sure beats the option of running lean and detonating.
