Smile turn signal relay

my relay went out after a rainy day ride home. typically not my fav. riding conditions. does any one know and alternative to finding a replacement relay for the bonnie. found the closeset relay at my kragen but seems to make the signal , signal a little too quickly. my dealer wants 60 plus bucks for a replcement. seems a little pricey to me.

Other riders have posted that they only needed to remove their flasher and drain it and let it and the connector dry thoroughly. You could try that first, and use plenty of dielectric grease when you put it back.

SignalMinder is a solid-state flasher, self-cancelling after a fixed number of flashes. It costs about $100, comes with additional features, but those other features require some wiring. Bonnies use the SM-1 model.

Someone on rat.net found a replacement standard flasher at an auto parts store for $15, if I remember correctly. You might try searching for that thread. There's no point in buying the "official" flasher.

I've read that NewBonneville has a plain solid-state flasher (not self-cancelling), don't know the price. If you don't see it on the web site, try e-mailing Brent.

Solid-state flashers could be helpful if you're planning to use LEDs anywhere in your lighting.

Signal Minder

There are a lot of flashers out there that will do the trick for $20-30? . I got the signal minder for a safety purpose. Yea it cost $99, but worth every penny if it saves your life!!
My garage mates HD came w/ self cancelling signals. IT SHOULD BE A GOVT REQ !!!
Nobody can remember all the time to turn off the blinker. It only takes 1 time for a car to think you are turning & pull out in front of you! Want a stock flasher?? I will sell ya mine for $20. Id rather see ya get a self cancelling one & know you are safer!!! If you live in BF Montana- its probably not as big a problem? In any busy traffic areas- its a must for safety reasons! The signal minder also is - running lights, emergency flashers-& some other stuff that I havent looked into yet. It does take some wiring mods but they send the parts w/ the flasher. I will have a friend into wires do it when he visits here in SUNNY Fla. A trade off of sorts? Does what I got it for very well & thats what reeally counts!! Been "Out of Body" once from a MC accident (other details you dont want to hear), dont want to go there again till its time. You can have my flasher, but I really hope you dont?
