Well, the truth is that what's being said now is pretty much plowing old ground. I think that about all that needs to be said has been said, and mostly said with discretion and civility. So we need to thank everybody for their imput, their patience and their willingness, in almost all cases to realize what a forum like this is, and how it can be effectively used. In the years that I have been on this web site the vast majority of comments have been to the effect that we learn a lot, we grow a lot and we become better able to maintain, mod and trouble shoot problems with our bikes because of what we learn here. That has been my personal experience as well.
Through the years we have heard many of us say to hesitant, embarrassed newbies that "there are no stupid questions, the only thing stupid would be not to ask them." That still goes. And the answers vary from supurb to inane and everywhere in between. That is the nature of the beast. But my personal observation is that we are all thinking adults and can, and must, winnow through what we see posted and choose what makes sense to us. What would be foolish in extreme would be to use this site instead of using common sense, and some good manuals.
On the whole the knowledge here is far superior to ANY knowledge that I have found on any other site devoted to motorcycle tech issues. And I have had a lot of bikes and been on a lot of tech sites. Is it perfect? Far from it. But it is very good and it is OURS!
Thanks for all your contributions, and continue to be available to that next question, even if it is about WD-40, MMO, what oil? what air pressure? or how to stop correctly.
Take care,
