Specialty Spares TT Race Pipes on a Bonnie
Does anyone has Specialty Spares TT Race Pipes on his Bonnie? They look great...I read somewhere that they're not simple straight pipes...they have kind of a little muffler in the pipes...and also, the pipes are double tubing made...does it mean that the pipes don't get blue at all ?
Can anyone confirm me that they really don't get blue at all, and tell me how much louder they sound compared to the NH Togas ?

Wow,I thought there would be 10 answers by now. I think you are throwing people off with the "race pipe" part of the title. If the "race pipes" are different than the "regular" TT pipes by Specialty Spares, then this won`t be of any help. If they are the "regular" version, they have a small rudimentary baffle in them, are not double wall pipe, will blue just as much as your stock headers if not properly jetted and are just as loud almost as when you started the bike without mufflers, when you installed the Togas. [and you know you did !! we all did !!] Your Toga`s sound like a Triumph of old,TT`s sound LOUD.

Unless Dale is doing something differently these days, his pipes are single-wall and have short baffles welded into the ends. Mine came chromed, but I ended up painting them black.

I found a video online and posted it in the exhaust thread.
http://www.triumphrat.net/bonnie-own...exhaust-6.html
I think they sound pretty good in the video, but it's tough to gauge how loud they really are.
I'm wondering what carb and air box mods you would need to make in order for the bike to run right without loosing the bottom end.

I put on my new specialty spares TT pipes just a couple of weeks ago. They are loud, but not in my opinion obnoxiously so. They make the bike sound like a proper Triumph instead of just looking like one. Having said that, on the longer trips I find myself needing ear plugs! They do have a small amount of in-built baffling, so they are not just completely open pipes. The pipes are singe walled and they already starting to go golden at the first bend, but that does not bother me. The bike attracts many more admiring looks now! It is like having a new younger girlfriend in tow!

Nice! I think that I might break down soon and pick up a pair. Did you get the regular chrome or the CermaChrome? I'm wondering if it makes a difference with the pipes turning colors...???

I got mine before Dale started offering the ceramic coatings. The pipes are single wall, a little larger diameter than stock pipes and have a small "baffle" inside (I think it looks more like chicken wire welded to the inside of the pipe though). I wish they were a little bassier, but other than that, they are nice pipes. Mine blued down to about 6" past the first bend and look just about like I want them. If you are one who doesn't like the blue, I would suggest using Kreem before you install them.
I know others will argue with me but I saw increased acceleration thru the RPM range.

I mean the regular TT pipes ; it's on the Pure Triumph web site that I saw them name these pipes TT Race pipes...and sure I started my T100 to hear the sound before installing the Togas !

Thank's everyone ! I think I'll keep on with my Togas...nice sound and nice style, without beeing too loud, even without the baffles...much better without the baffles !

I love the way they look. I wish someone could do a test on all the pipes out there so we could see what makes hp and what just sounds good.I wonder how they compare with bubs ,perds and south bays pipes as far as power goes.I think from what i have seen those 3 pipes are about the best in 2 into 2 pipes that dont cost a arm and a leg.Ihave not seen any dyno info on the tt pipes yet.If they make as much power i would buy some.
Any one with them had any cops check them out?
