zrex shocks received

thanks to the rat.net i put down $225 for a pair of zrx shocks. i'm excited to get them on the ol' bonnie and am really happy to not have had to plunk down $400+ on upgraded suspension.

anyone have any suggestions for a 6'1", 187lb rider? i've spent considerable time today trying to read up on the ins-and-outs of suspension (the zrx shocks have pre-load, damping, and rebound adjustments).

also, i'm lacking a bike jack and i'm hoping to get my roommate's help. . . will i be able to do this without a jack or center-stand if they're a tad longer than the bonnie stock suspension?

I'm 225 lbs and I have mine set at 2 up top and 3 on the bottom. I find it's the perfect compromise.

You'll need to support the bike and be able to adjust the height in order to get the shocks on - in saying that you maybe able to use the preload on the stock shocks to adjust height, to get the first new shock on.

I highly recommend a bike jack. Also I recommend you put your stockers in a deep freeze overnight and the bottom, or top..I can't remember, bushings should knock out easier. Tad has done his more recent than I have, maybe he will chime in.

Think so. Be sure to be sitting down when you ask the price.
They will be happy to make you anything you want.

I had to set my springs to the softest position, and the adjusters are both set at 2. I weigh 170 lbs. This was figured by me bouncing up and down on the bike while my friend who knows something about suspension watched. Then he told me to get some fork springs.
