does this look like a complete centerstand??
hi there folks. i'm looking to buy this centerstand from a guy who emailed me a pic of what he has to offer, but i'd like some second opinions as to whether it looks complete... that is, is there any hardware obviously missing?
also - he doesn't have the part number - are there any giveaways as to whether it's for a bonnie or a thrux? i heard that they aren't exactly the same. i have a bonnie.
i would be most grateful if you'd check this link out and tell me what you think:

thanks again,
~m

Almost. I don't see the retainer bolt to which the spring attaches (after the retainer is screwed into a hole in the frame) nor the plastic plug that goes on your exhaust pipe to keep the stand from dinging it.
The latter wouldn't be hard to come up with a replacement for. Not sure about the former - wouldn't be impossible by any means.
BTW, new ones are $204, delivered (so long as you order on a Friday - free shipping) from MADSS, so get a better price if you buy this one. - B

PS, how's your bike run with that jetting? I'd've thought you needed to go a lot bigger on the main jets with pod filters, but would be curious to find out how yours runs on 'em. Thanks - Brian

well, man - that's a point of contention in my mind. i had it "professionally dino-ed", but they screwed it up and i'm taking them to small claims court for it next month. to sum up how it runs...
it backfires a lot on startup
stumbles in low rpm's in first
seems to perform ok once you get up in rpms
i know there's more power to be had and the a/f ratio that got printed out as part of the "after" graph looks like a work of abstract art.

Norton Brian - i think you're correct .... what is missing is (as I remember it) a small block that bolts to the frame with a nub where the springs attach. I think what happens is that someone removes the stand and springs, but not the spring attachment point, probably thinking it is part of the frame. A riding buddy sold me the stand at a good price, and I ordered that piece from the Triumph dealer.

i don't support pat robertson's views. i merely posted them because i can't believe any human living in present-day america could possibly have these kinds of thoughts. i hope that everyone in this community realizes that. now that i realize some people might not realize that, it sort of terrifies me that i might be seen as some kind of backwards jacka$$. i'll probably remove that signature.

Someone here told me how to block (or delete or whatever) the signatures. I followed their advice because some of the members' inability to participate here without spouting their political views made them seem like various sorts of jacka$$es to me. Since I took this step this forum seems much friendlier and more MOTORCYCLE oriented.

and i think it's missing the rubber stopper that attaches to the exhaust to stop the stand from hitting the chain. i have a bonnie center stand that i'm not using. if you want some pics let me know and when i get home this evening i can take it out of the packaging and take a photo so you can see everything that it comes with.

metasac,
You can look at bikebandit.com they have diagrams for all the oem Triumph parts. You can then see for yourself if everything is there.
