Here's an alternative suggestion. Bella Corse and other suppliers offer bar risers ... the name GenMar also comes to mind .....

This cannot be more than a 10 minute installation.

Might also look at some flat track bar's as they are a bit taller and pull back little more than the stock bars. Put the ones from Bella Corse on mine and was an improvement

GenMar Folks

I used some Genmar risers a few years ago,. The pair I ordered were ok, but not what I wanted it turned out. Called them and we swapped them out for a set with more rise, less set back. No hassle. And a five/ten minute install.

As to cables, sorry, but I'm no help. Here's a link.

Scrambler bars are 7/8, Bonnie bars are 1 inch diameter. There are a few posts to the effect that the risers will work with stock cables, worst case is switching out the clutch cable for a Bonneville America item.
Bear in mind that all this proves is that I read the posts, it doesn't mean that I know what I'm talking about, but Winter is long in these parts so I'll probably learn something by Spring.
