Help, Thuxton flasher unit missing!

Hi, I have just bought an 06 Thruxton that has been modified, air box removed, K&N’s etc, and the indicators were also removed. I have bought new set of short led indicators and installed them but they don’t work, I know I might have to buy a solid state relay or fit resistors so looked behind the left side panel for the flasher unit and it doesn’t seem to be there. The last owner had removed the air box and taped up some wires so I started digging and found a square flat plug with a metal clip with 2 wires from it, green&red, Yellow&red, and I can’t find this in my wiring diagram.
The operators manual shows and calls it a flasher relay, but the wiring diagram doesn’t mention flasher relay anywhere, only Direction indicator unit that has 3 wires from it, orange&green, Black, Light green&brown.
Any help would be appreciated.
Ray.

Turn Signal Signal Relay

The Haynes manual has a unit "Turn Signal Relay" that has three wires like the unit you described, "orange&green, Black, Light green&brown". That should be your "flasher" unit.

The only Yellow with Red wires I could locate in the Haynes wiring was for the kill switch and the headlight cutout relay (which I think is housed under the left cover - this relay cuts out the headlight while the starter is engaged). My guess is that the prior owner removed the headlight cutout relay also. My 06 has two relays under the left cover.

Hope this helps.

In the original setup, the flasher relay has three terminals that plug into a receptacle which eventually goes back to the wiring harness.

It's been mentioned elsewhere that this flasher is much less expensive if you get one from an auto parts store, compared with Triumph's price. If you want an original type flasher relay, you can search for that thread and save some money and time.

If you want a solid-state flasher to use with LEDs, NewBonneville and other vendors have the self-cancelling item, and I think that NewBonneville also has a plain solid-state flasher, not self-cancelling, which is cheaper. I've never seen the latter on the web site, you might have to e-mail Brent and ask him about it.

Thanks very much for your replies. I will get a solid state one but first I have to find the three wires. The problem is, the original harness is black tape and this guy must have tucked in the wires and used more black tape, why?

I will get the self canceling but I am still trying to findthe 3 wires for the flasher, I have checked all through the harness behind the left side panel.
Would like to know what part of the harness they branch out from.

I'd have to look at my bike to be certain but I think this airbox mod picture show the relays still mounted on the airbox (what's left of it) to the rear of the starter solenoid. Unless the former owner really cut them back the leads you're looking for ought to be close to this region.

Thanks, great picture, the flasher is on the left, now if I could only follow those 3 wires. If I could figure out how to post a picture I would show you my rats nest.
