foot pegs dragging

Two questions regarding this:

What do you do when the foot pegs scrape? Lift your foot a little? If freaks me OUT!

Are there aftermarket pegs that are maybe a little further back?

Smile a lot more!!! don't worry you'll get used to it.

Yes there are aftermarket rear set pegs, check out Newbonneville.com, Bellacorse, Norman Hyde they're all pretty $$$$$$, or you could just swap over with your pillion pegs, that will give you about a 1/2 inch rise, and about 1 inch back. The downside, no grinding knobs,........it's all peg.

so...

it doesn't create too much shakey shake? Is it a sign to let up or should I stick through the turn.

My old bike (cb750) would scrape but i think it was the center stand and didn't cause as much disturbance.

It shouldn't shake just keep the power & momentum going thru the turn. I point my toes down off the pegs so my boot touches down first, It's a type of "early warning" then I know my pegs will touch if I go any further.

Talking Keep scrapin'

Scraping your pegs just means you're using all your tire(s) If you don't like to scrape then shift your bum down towards the road and that'll give you a lower center of gravity while your bike remains more upright (no peg scrapin'). This technique is used by road racers etc. I like to keep my a55 planted so I scrape, by the way the sound really freaks Hardly Davisun riders. The acorn nuts that hold your pegs on are double long to take the grind and are replaceable. I know a fellow who grinds so much he's missing about two inches of peg, right into the rubber!

my bum down?

When I'm going fast and getting in the twisties my ass is usually all the back.

What do you mean by down?

So, I guess I'll just stop being a ***** and next time it drags I'll try not to freak out.

What do you do when the foot pegs scrape?

I waved to the Harley rider who was waiting at the stop light I was turning at.

When I saw him watching me I kept the speed up slightly and turned a little sharper just so they would drag.

And two thoughts ran through my mind: "Try that on your bike, sucker"; and "Geez! I didn't know I could do this one handed".

Used to drag the cans on my Monster all the time, scared the crap outta me the 1st time I did it...but then I realized it was cool...

And I had Titanium sliders on my bike boots, used to be a great spark show on corners!!
