More forward controls

Has anyone tried moving the shifter and brake pedals (and footpegs) forward a couple of inches? I'm thinking it would be more comfortable on long rides, my knees tending to get a bit kinked.

How tall are you? I am 5'10" and my knees felt the same way. I have bought one of Modre's foot peg lowering kits but have not installed it as of yet. The people who have said it has resolved this very issue.

Hedge is right. It does solve that problem. It doesn't move them forward, but it lowers them about 2 inches so that your knees are not at such a drastic bend.

It is amazing what a difference 2 inches can make. That is the motto that I live by. Now, if I can get my wife to buy into that, my world will be a happy place.

won't your feet drag in the corners easier?

If you mean by lowering the pegs 2" your 100% correct but I'm not worried about going down that extreme and if by chance I do they should fold up as they are suppose to anyway. I just bought the Oberon touring pegs in black today (Just under $150 delivered from the UK) and they look like they have a much slimmer profile.

I have Modre's foot peg lowering kit along with headlight modulators, TORs, Uni filter, tach kit, NewBonnie luggage guards and more. That said, if I could have only one of those and more modifications, I will keep Modre's peg lowering kit. It made a huge difference.

I have Modre brackets, cures you of toe hanging quickly if you like to ride on the sidewalls. Very comfortable and I am 6'. I also use billybars for the highway.

Well being 5'6" I guess my excuse is the bend is a little stiffening after a while, probably because of a) one knee replacement and b) arthritis in the other. The 2" drop sounds ok, but I think I might try to get someone to fab a 1" drop and then raise the seat 1" - and of course I could try Thruxton shocks to raise the back end 1" too. I really would rather not lose too much clearance if I don't have to.

But moving the controls forward would solve another problem - the footpegs are always fouling my boots or pants when I plant my feet at a stop...

I've sat on a Speedmaster, too much forward, much like a Honda Magna I used to own. Especially for a 30" inseam. I'd like a position like my old Valkyrie, knees at a comfortable 90 degree angle. But it appears from prior comments lowering the pegs may have the same effect.
