Just Ordered Works Suspension
I just ordered a set of Street Tracker rear shocks and front springs from Works Performance. I should receive in about 2 weeks. Check back for a ride report!

Details please...
Moondogger,
This is my opinion is the best and possibly most important mod that one can make to the Bonnie. I wish I'd begun with the suspension mod. Please tell us why you decided to go with WP and what exactly you are going to do. I also couldn't help but notice that you live in L.A. I'm in Simi Valley. Perhaps after the mods (and the rain) we can meet for a ride and compare notes. I'm in the market for suspension and am looking for some tips and inspiration. Are you doing the work yourself? If you need a hand...
Cheers,
SK

SK,
I'll let you know after I install the shocks and springs. I met the owner of Works, a guy named Gil, at the Hansen Dam ride a few months back. He really knew what he was talking about and other people had great things to say as well. Also, they're local, so if I need any additional tuning done, they're right around the corner.

Sounds like you are getting the best of the best! If you don't mind sharing with us - How much is it going to cost you to have it delivered to your front door? I'm not talking about installation - just delivered, the bottom price of the whole package delivered to your front door.

Hedge,
The rear shocks are $400, the fork springs about $100 - this is with a 10% discount. I will be picking everything up at Works, no shipping, I don't trust United Package Smashers.

Alex - that sounds like a great price! $50 more for the rears than Ikon's and the same price as the Progressive front springs. I'd say you did real well and will enjoy the finished project. Please keep us posted with lots of pix!

When I got my Bonneville it had the Works shocks on it so I have nothing to compare it to but I think they are great. Here are some pics.

I can't speak for the Bonnie, but I put Works shocks and fork springs on my Scrambler very soon after I got it. The difference was really worth the money and effort. The suspension is very tunable, very compliant, and transformed the bike. One reason to get the Works suspension is that they are made to fit each rider. The shocks I got for my wife's Thruxton (she's 100lbs.) are quite different from the ones I got for my Scrambler (I'm 210lbs.). When I got them, they were very well set up for my weight and riding style, and really didn't need much, if any, adjusting.

I've had my Works Performance Street Trackers on my '03 bonnie for over 16,000 miles and the dual spring kit from Works in the front forks for about 12,000 miles now and I am satisfied with the changes. The rear shock upgrade will help handling more than fork spring upgrades, IMHO. The noticeable differences for me with the fork spring changes was less dive on hard braking and small to medium bumps are much smoother--the large bumps are still jolting on a bonnie.
