Center Stand question

I bought my 04 thruxton used.It had a center stand and I promptly removed it. I kept it kicking around my garage for some time until my buddy bought a 06 bonnie.
He was planning on buying a center stand so I gave him mine. He took it to the dealer for service and asked them to install the stand. They tried and said it would not fit.
Are either the frames or stands different on the thruxton and bonnevilles?
Now I have the stand kicking around my garage again.

I dont think there is a difference, you would get at least £80 maybe more on ebay for it.

There is a difference, but can't think what it is, maybe something to do with the pipes being different on the two bikes i.e. the stop is higher on the thruxton so the stand would end up lower when up on the bonnie

When I swapped to Emgo pipes (on my Bonnie) the center stand rest no longer worked and it got into the chain so I had to devise a new "stand-off" for it...that would be my best guess.

The difference might be in the height.

the difference IS the height.
the thrux is taller in back, so the bonny centerstand probably would not get the rear tire off the ground

It is higher in the back due to the shock height, is that right? anyone know what the handling affects would be on a regular bonneville if you used shocks from a Thruxton? or would it only be the height? thanks

If the back was higher, I believe it would reduce the rake (and trail?) and the bike would steer more quickly (less effort to turn in).

i know a scrambler stand won't work on the bonnie, tried it out. i think they are all a little different btw the 3 models in how the mounts are shaped and where the stops are located.
