Jenks Bolts Tuning Notes Question

I have silencers made by TJ Wassell. You can see straight thru them, no baffles. I would consider them to be "Open" exhaust. Am I correct? The notes have 3 types of exhaust, Triumph "Off Road", "Off Road", and "Open".

Yes, tho the TORS can be seen thru as well. They are just a little more restrictive than most after-market pipes.
BUT- there are different levels of open, as well. A really wide open one, such as BUBs and D&D, run better when the pilot jet is bumped to a 42, and a main of perhaps 150.
Some slightly less radical ones, Sprints, Teardrops, Preds, and a host of others run best on a stock 40 pilot and about 140 main. Both set-ups usually improve with a shim on the needle. Adyno is nice to get it spot on, but you can do it thru plug watching and how it runs, if you have experience at it. My dyno run told me to change nothing, as I somehow nailed perfect by trial and error. Have fun, and good luck!

140 mains on 865? With or without an airbox?

BoneRider,
I have similar pipes (Commando Specialties). Just came back from a 200-mile ride today and my bike ran flawlessly.
-42 jet
-118 main jet
-One shim under each needle.
(modified box, AI removed and K&N)
The sound at high RPM's is awesome!
