Gas mileage in the winter

So due to lack of gear for below 40 degrees Im lucky if I get to ride once a week. What I have noticed is that my gas mileage has gone down dramatically since the onset of winter. Is this a normal thing because of the cold? Is it the extra wind I never seem to get away from? Perhaps since im not riding as often the gas is going bad? Does this mean I need fuel stabilizer even though it is getting a ride once a week no matter how cold? The bike isnt even quite 1 year old and my gas mileage since winter started went from about 45mpg down to like 30 mpg.

thoughts? suggestions?

Cheers!™

Milage

I posted the same question this time last year (from Fla). Someone came back & said its the winter gas. I laughed till I read an article in the paper the next day about winter gaas & MILAGE!! I humbled myself w/ an appology- he was rite! We usually dont get winter blend here in Fla but nowadays- who knows what the FV*** your gettin as far as gas? May have to do w/ that or just the long warm-up time? Had t obe that here. I went from 45+ mpg to 32 ijn 1 week. It came back w/ gas from another statiion. Gas- well be lucky just to get it soon?? Too bad we cant fire up the still & make it for the Bonne- but it wont like what we can make. O well??

we rode in central tx yesterday. started out in the 50's ended up 40. and it was windy as hell. getting blown all over the road. i topped off when we started and when we pulled in last night around 1930 i had 125 on the odo. i figured with all the wind i would have to turn it to reserve but never did. i got 45mpg when we rode on sunday but it was in the 60's then i think.
