Bar end weights?

I just received some LSL touring bars all the way from the UK.[ Nice bend, pretty average chrome.] They were shown in the add with bar end weights so I ordered and installed them to. I figure the weights add stability to the steering but I've never really heard an explanation as to there benefits. The bikes I rode when I was a kid didn't have any [maybe thats why I crashed so much back then]. Any insights would be welcome?

Bar end weights are suppose to help with bar vibration. If they really work then I could use some myself!

They do work. I installed OEM Triumph Trophy bar end weights (SS, and they weigh approx 16 oz each!) on my SpeedMaster. They seemed to have quelled all the vibratory "buzz" in the stock bars to almost nil. I'll give a better evaluation / ride report in the spring, but what little time I've had to ride with them on made a noticeable difference to me.

Bar-end weights are great! I have NH M-bars, and needed something to quiet the buzz at speed, so now I have Rizoma bar-end weights and "Retro-Reverse" bar-end mirrors. Really solid kit, not a trace of vibrations.
