They already are injected for '08 in europe and japan and possibly a few other countries. But in the US they are to be injected in '09. Look at Triumph's british site and the specs show injection for '08, and several people have already bought them. The US site still shows carbs for '08 but like i said will change in '09. Compare.......

USA site T100 specs: http://www.triumph.co.uk/usa/Bonnevi...fications.aspx

It has to be tested and certified for EPA standards here in the states, thereby, the cause of the delay.

FI isn't exactly new stuff. My first Beemer, an '85 model K100RS (count 'em - that's 22 years ago), came with Bosch FI. There are issues I don't like with FI, specifically, if the bike isn't running the way I want it to, and there's no programmable interface I can install, then I'm hosed. No rejetting here.
However, if Triumph does (or let me be British just for fun) if Triumph do the systems properly, then I'd certainly have no problem with one of their FI bikes.
Alternately, if some aftermarket outfit provides a way for us to re-program the bikes, I'm ok with that, too.
But it would be nice if Triumph provided a fuel injection system that worked really slick! Straight from the factory.

"But it would be nice if Triumph provided a fuel injection system that worked really slick! Straight from the factory."
I think, Bob, that is a point that is not often discussed here; we tend to be busy worrying about whether they will look like "fake carbs" or whether it will change the "retro" nature of the bike, etc.
But I think all of us read enough mag reviews of bikes to know that the first model year with a new FI system often seem to have serious mapping problems, dead spots, bucking off idle, etc. that don't show up in pre introduction testing. There may be some real advantage in not getting them until after a year of on-road usage in Europe before they get to those of us in the USA.

Monte - I could not agree more. Let the folks on the other side of the pond do the "beta testing" for us (kidding, guys). But undoubtedly, the FI system will improve over the next few years. That is, unless Triumph has really done their homework on the FI Bonnies. I'm hoping they have ..... this bike still has to feel like a retro bike. Somehow, the FI has to feel like a really nicely dialed-in set of Keihin carbies.
