Go to eBay and do a search on "mini tachometer" or similar, and you'll get lots of suppliers for the one used in these photos (I have it too). I think they may all be made by the same place or maybe there's a couple mfg. with the same style. Anyway, that's the common $50 version. There are detailed wiring instructions around here or at www.newbonneville.com.

As mentioned above I got mine on ebay shipped for $50.00
They look exactly like the ones from drag specialties except they don't
say drag specialties on them and there a lot cheaper.

The signal for the tach on the 2001 bonnie is in a pin connector under
the seat. It is a little tricky making a very small female connector that
will fit the pin, 3rd from the right in the top row.
The red wire is the one added from the tach the actual signal wire
from the tach is green.
You have to pull the connector apart then feed the signal wire through
the back then crimp a very small female connector to the end
of the wire then pull the wire back into the back of the pin connector.
I modified a connector I got from radio shack Like I said it is a little tricky.
It will all make sense when you take a look under the seat at the pin connector.

You can get the power from the parking light in the head light shell
for the tach power and tach light.

Here is a pic from the back. I mounted it by drilling through the back of the
warning light housing.

Good luck I hope this helps
Bill

Bill,
Unfortunately, the thread by you and oldsport was one of those lost when the site was reorganised and I've been unable to locate it since (hence shown in italics on the mods page). It's been a problem with quite a few links and pictures. I keep it there in the hope that it'll reappear one day, and when it is I'll be more than happy to set the link back up again.
Meanwhile, I've added a link to the fitting instructions supplied with the Triumph after market tacho kit to the list as well as to this thread.
