If you like a Black Bonnie...
...but maybe not a fan of the black side covers, is it cost effective to swap them out with either chrome a la T-100 or can they be effectively polished to replicate a std. Bonny?
Thanks,
George

Sadly like too many things on the Bonnie black the sidecovers are plastic so wouldn't polish. Several have scratched them up with sandpaper and rattlecanned some flat black on them to make them more bearable, or others have successfully removed them all together and cleaned up the wiring (search for vertwrks' bike)

Do you mean the side covers or the engine case covers?
I ask because the T-100 comes standard with chrome case covers, but the side covers are painted plastic.

Yes, the latter was my intent. I should have been more clear.
I really like the Bonny in monochrome black but actually prefer bare aluminum engine cases to either black or chrome. Below is a pic.
Can the engine covers be polished out? Is it common practice for members occasionally to swap black for bare aluminum covers based on personal preference?
George

Best bet might be to trade with someone who wants all black case covers. I am sure you can polish them up well, but it may not be worth your time.

Thruxton brushed "natural look" sprocket & case covers should be a direct swap. I've actually got a Thruxton brushed cam cover if you're interested. It's not perfect, but still a nice piece. PM if interested.

You can have the covers blasted and polish or brushed, or of course do it yourself. Or buy covers already done. Thruxton covers have been known to have blistering in their clearcoat.

I understand your feelings about the side covers that come on the Bonnie black.
My Wife couldn't stand hers so I repainted the whole bike yellow with custom Bonneville decals.
You could always repaint the bodywork a contrasting color.

Thanks guys. I was just entertaining this if I come across a good deal on a Bonny Black as I believe the Bonny looks very nice in Black...I just prefer the brushed or polished and then clearcoated aluminum engine covers...to both black and chrome. Only personal preference.
Thanks for your input,
George

biker7 - this is probably the best suggestion. If your not in a rush just wait and it will come up for sale.

Your kidding us right? I'm not sure if I should even ask you to post a picture of this?
