Scrambler pipe question
I was wondering who as purchased aftermarket pipes for thier Scramblers? Could you show a picture, give a ball park price and where you purchased them. Also and this is the tough part, could you give a stab at desribing the sound, maybe compared to a pipe you've heard? thanks.

Here's a picture of my Thunderbike pipes
They have a deeper rumble than the TOR's, & combined with the rest of TB's performace kit (cams, AI removed, K&N filter, & rejet) give a noticable improvement to mid-range power. They vary in price, depending on where you are in the world, so check out their website for more info. They also make a full system for the Scrambler, which Rhodie has on his bike. So he might be able to tell you more about that.
There are plenty of other brands to choose from, & most of them can be viewed (& sometimes heard) on the exhaust sticky.
P.S. The one thing I don't like about the pipes, is that they're too long, & this causes discoloration of the lower half of the indicator lens, which can be seen in this pic.

Did you actually ride it like that Bruce? It wasn't you who started them SoCal fires, was it? (only joking)

I've just done home surgery on my stock pipes ("Hi, Dr Nick...", "Hi, everybody"), and she sounds surprisingly good, and runs excellently.
A pair of Thunderbikes is on the horizon though - nice look, old Scratcher - cheers Pat

Nope. If you read a little of the thread,I confess that it's not my bike. I could run them here in Arizona though,if I wanted to.My Norton has open megaphones,it's loud, and I've never had any hassles. Guys ride stroked Harleys with 15" dump pipes that belch fire ,and you can hear for miles. No one seems to care, although the laws are on the books. It's probably only a matter of time.

Cheers!
Bruce

Arizona rules. I rode there a year ago and I didn't want to leave.

Wow - those sawn-offs look as good as I've seen. Very authentic. I wonder if some baffle tubes (like the VW ones) would quieten it down enough to be acceptable in the UK. Is there a join there or are the end cans and that last piece of pipe all one piece?

VW mutes / Hyde pipes.
Bazzer,
deezildennis asked for pictures of their installation, so here they are. fitting involved a bit of sawing, hammering, drilling, etc so don't expect them to just pop in. it is a bodge:
ps. Sweat, nice job with the sv forks & wheels, btw.
