Box of goodies

904 pistons , rings, sleeves, gaskets and some new K&N pod filters
This is just the beginning of some thing good.
It's a little scary thinking about tearing into a perfectly good engine
Some may ask why???
and if you have to ask why??? then you wouldn't understand

Good luck, and DO sweat the small stuff! It's a testimony to these bikes and the folks who own them that they like them enough to improve them. Keep us posted on where you are with this project.

The kit only comes with the cylinder base gasket and head gasket.
I will have to order a few more gaskets , O-rings and some crush washers
for the reassembly.
I hope to get started some time this weekend so I can get the jugs sent
out for machining.
Meanwhile I can be working on making the battery box so I can eliminate
the air box.
Winter is officially here now.
I will keep you posted on the progress.
Bill

I don't have to ask why, I have been doing this to every motorized vehicle I have ever owned and I am holding on dearly with both hands to my seat trying to muster up the strength not to split the case of my Black.

The definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result!

Bill, you will probably want to pick up some barnett green springs too. Good luck and if you have any questions you can send me a PM.

Jugs, when used as slang, has many different meanings in different parts of the world. One of which will get me moderated, so I best not mention that one (or did I just mention it?).
Whatever! But I just realised that what our US members refer to as jugs (mechanicaly), we Aussie's call barrels. & technically I think they're called the cylinder housing. In Australia we call carby's jugs. So the potential for misunderstanding between Aussie & American mechanics must be huge. I can just picture some Aussie guy scratching his head & wondering how he was going to make Wiseco liners fit inside Keihin's.
BTW I know I'm one of the worst offenders here for using obscure Aussie slang. I just wanted to point out that we all use words that can have vastly different meanings in other parts of the world. Or as the old saying goes.We are one people seperated by a common language.
