Fork Tube Repair

I have been holding off on my F3 front end conversion because the tubes are bent. Does anyone have a place that they have sent their tubes for straightening? I am leery of sending them off for straightening and ending up with tubes that are still bent. I contacted Forking by Frank and they don't produce the tubes for a F3. Any help is appreciated, I am ready to get these things installed and enjoy the much needed front braking.

I had some Ceriani fork tubes on an Aermacchi straightened about 40 years ago. The local machine shop did it. So, check with your local machine shop, preferably one with old guys and old machines.

Talking go straight

if they are only "teaked" anyone with a 12 ton press can do it. I have one in my home workshop and have done lots of tubes and even shock absober shafts all you need is a little patience, some V blocks and a good cigar

Thanks for the reply. I think I have found a place to do them, frame straight, http://framestraightsystem.com/ForkTube.htm

Has anyone used these guys?

If you need another slightly bent tube let me know. The first one I got off Ebay ended up being bent then I found an entire front end in good shape for less than $150 on Craigslist so I never used the other tube.

I am sure those folks would do a good job, do compare with the price of a press though, if you can find one for less than they would do the job it would pay for itself. If of course you have space.
