What Years Can Swap?
Yup, another newb question for the more experienced...
With regards to the new-gen Bonnies'...How interchangable are the parts between the model years? ie...Will '00 parts fit on a '07 etc? I am talking body, handlebars, seats, tank, fenders, etc...but info on other parts would be greatly appreciated. I know there are aftermarket pieces available, but I am looking for Bonnie to Bonnie, T100 to Black Beauty info.
Thanks for the help.

I think 01-07 are interchangeable.

A side note:
I am asking for the fact that I will be picking up a new BB next spring, and am wondering how far back I can go for extra parts....
Thanks.

Parts
For the most part, I think most parts are interchangable? There was a post here 2 days ago about an 01 Bonne head & the oilcooler attachments. They were very different than my 04! I am sure MOST parts can be used 01- 07? Obviously the 790 & 865 are gonna have some differences. There are some polution stuff added thru the years that will be different as well, but jets etc can be changed. The silencer on the 07 I am told is different, harder to gut than previous years? I am sure there are some subtle changes elsewhere as well, but MOST will cross over I think? A parts bike would be a winner!, but the Bonne's are so reliable- they dont need much parts for a while? When they become a classic soon again a parts bike will be a treasure trove of sorts. The "spoked" rims suck!!, so ifyour lookin to store parts- look @ suspension, frame, ft end stuff. When I get a broken spoke- mags WILL be the replacement. The engine is bullet proof. Not much there you wanna store used>? Cases , shifter pegs etc.., something that can be F/U in a downing will be very useful. Engine parts SHOULD be available for some time to come? When (if) my engine gets tired- I will do a BB kit on it. It has the good cams, valves, head etc.. that all say should be used. I am always looking for a parts bike. There was one posted here tioday (sorta)- not totalled yet by the ins co. Thinh about what tou might need & go from there? New bike- welcome to the club (in advance)- I dont think you got it yet??

Hey Capt,
No, no bike yet. Have about a 5 month wait with winter on us now, so I am just getting ready and trying to plan ahead somewhat. What would be ideal is to mod a bike, then should the need ever have to come to sell, all the untouched parts are ready to go back on. Or, have a spare bike to bob.
The longest 5 months.......

Aside from engine and carb internals, '01-'07 parts are interchangeable.

Are 04-07 Thruxton Parts: Tanks, Seats & Fenders interchangeable with 01-07 Bonnies?
Anyone have a list of parts that can be swapped between Bonnies & Thruxtons? There must be a long list of interchangeable parts.

+1 on this. I was going to say the same thing. You would be hard pressed to find something that didn't work between these years.

When I originally asked this, I had found some '02 parts on the 'bay and wasn't sure what to do. My dealer said they didn't know so they would call Triumph and ask. Triumph said no, but that didn't sit right for me, so I called Triumph, and then they said yes, they would fit, then I called the owner of my dealership, and he too said that they would fit, but by then the auction was over.
Live and learn I guess.

Hamr Mark, if you are getting your Bonnie Black next spring, will it be a 08? if so, there may be a few parts that will not interchange as far as we know now. The tank for one thing will be a differant shape, not much change but a little more hollow for the FI stuff. Alot else may be the same you'll have to wait and see. I noticed the 08 Thruxton has nromal risers with drag bars as opposed to clip on's they had since new. As far as Triumph, I seem to have bad luck getting info, I needed a small fairing for the Thurxton, in the black with the checker board paint (of which all the thrux' came with for the first few years) and they told me there was not such thing. Well, brochure, pictures and all sent, and guess what? after looking at the pictures of one and there on catalog, they said they didn't know what I was talking about (LOL)................ Good luck with your bike, I know you enjoy more they you can imagine, I know I am.
