Dominator Sports Loud.

Fitted my Dominator Sports and ARK to my 07 865 and think the pipes are too loud for my liking.Found that the baffle from my old Staintune Classics fits in the internal hole with some persuasion, cutting down the noise marginaly and gives a deeper less raspy tone.
The biggest issue is a whaaa....whaaa...whaaa... reverberation at 3500 rpm and 100km/h.The bike isnt surging so I dont beleive its a jetting issue just an acoustic thing.
Fitted the supplied 140/42 jets 1.75 turns and 1 shim.May try the 40s at 3 turns as going from 2.5 to 2 to 1.75 turns on the 42s has made no differance and feels a little fluffy just off idle.
Think I should have bought the touring versions, must be getting old.

I dont have the exact set-up, but similiar. I believe you are right about the 42's- they are not needed.
I was able to dial in a perfect 13.1 A/F across the whole rev range with 40's, 42's were ok in places and rich in others, making it hard to get a perfect mixture

Well they sure look good (but I'm partial to reverse cones). Hope you're able to get the reverb problem with 'em resolved. Real nice looking Bonnie over-all.

Loud

I know the feeling. I ride w/ a friend that got the same. Too loud!! I let a friend ride my Bonne T-Day. I could hear it miles away from his house- a nice sound. The 1st time I let someone take my bike away- so I could hear the exhaust. When you ride- you dont hear- behind you does! I have gutted stock peashooters & they sound (slightly) louder than 60's stiock, but a sweet , mellow, natrural sound & it was free to make it that way! I could hear him cause he was getting on it a litle- which I expected. He hasnt rode in many yeARS.
I will kep it that way until something happens to the stockers, them look @ whats avail then? No legal problems there as well? The only after mkt exhaust that di anything for me was the Emgo R/C dunstalls. You can pack in the FG as much as you want. I like the throATY mellow- not raspy Bonne sound. The stockers are it for now. The emgos (the chdeapest) will be an option lATER?

Or you could baffle the neighbor's mouths...

Seriously, I have the touring version of the Dominators which have produced the performance gains that I was seeking while being plenty loud as well. The sport versions that I've heard are a little too much for me, as I wish to keep kind of a low profile. The race version are REALLY loud. I followed a pal who was breaking in a motor that was equipped with the race Doms and he parted bumper-to-bumper traffic like Moses parted the Red Sea. Made lane splitting with bar-end mirrors a breeze.

20 min. work with the dremel. The plastic front guard on the 07 is so easy to cut, compared to the steel rear.Just reversed it so the front stay mounts are now at the rear and touched up with Artic Silver Ford colour.
Got lucas tail light and mini blinkers to go on to.Just gotta get around to it.
