Looking good VW - love the tank color. If your trying to figure out how to mount that fender low enough to the 17" rim - I made up four "L" shaped brackets out of 1/8 aluminum and bolted each to the original fork/fender mounting holes and then bent to shape desired on the bike and drilled the holes on the fender for mounting - worked out great.

We need more extensive day light pics please.

Thanks for all the kind comments and will ponder your "L" bracket for the fender John. I have a nasty habit of way over thinking stuff. I did source a CM400 fender to use from Ebay but when I got it it was .... for lack of a better work "junk." I hacked a Bonnie fender and think it will look OK ( OK is myspeak for I am not fond of it ) but if I can [aint it and mount it I am sure I will be content until the better option arrives. Also have a Thrux cowl I am gonna paint to match as soon as the fender is acceptable. I doubt I will get through the weekend without having this done, provided my friend with a paint booth around.

I will also try and shoot an outdoor pic or two, hopefully on twisty roads this weekend.

Peace.

Looking great. I'm glad you got the kit in! Nicely done, you guys with bubs have me itching. Do the bubs have stock diameter headers or larger?

You my man - have been a very Naughty Boy with that bike! It looks absolutely DDG! Great Work! I need a special 12-step program to deal with my obsession and compulsion when I see projects like yours and Sweat's and Greg's and the rest of the "Master Wrench's" on the RAT. I have to keep repeating my Mantra - "I will not split the case, I will not split the case"

Tomorrow the ever important break in ride. Hope it goes well. Why not right?

The Bub header is 38mm OD or 1.5 inches. Never had stock pipes on mine so no way of knowing if thats the same or not. I do LOVE the way they sound and look, although I have an issue with the chrome. It is bubbling up on the left header. Looks like the bubbles actually spell "woody," no joke. Perhaps during manufacturing there was somthing written on the header that affected the chroming process.. cause I sure have not written on them. I called Bub, their generous 90 day warranty passed so they offered to sell me another header for $105. At the time I was gonna score it but they didn't have them in stock and no ETA on when they would make more. The kind gentleman offered ME to call back occasionally to see if they had any. I whined about this on a previous post and I think it was Sweat that suggested going black. Maybe one day........that would reduce my current bling factor. Maybe when I get tired of cleaning it as it is.....
