Check your front brake switch connectors up at the lever, pehaps they worked loose. It is not uncommon for these little POS microswitches to go bad too. I think they are $17 at the dealer.

Maybe I'm reading something wrong - but a TAIL LIGHT is on when the key is on. The BRAKE LIGHT comes on when either the right side hand lever (the front brake) or the right side foot lever (the rear brake) is engaged. It helps if you use the proper terms.

If you recently put on some handlebars by yourself and now your brake light doesnt work when you engage the front brake - then yeah - chances are you goofed something up.

Clarification:

The Hand Brake does not illuminate the STOP (brighter state) of the tail light. but the Foot Brake does - The RUNNING light is on regardless.

Which leads me to believe I tweaked the front brake switch connector or microswitch. Regardless it forces me to use the foot brake more diligently so I guess it's a good thing for now.

I'll let the dealer hash it out when I drop it off for the leaking cam cover.
