Maximum miles on reserve?
I verified my reserve mileage last Saturday. Luckily I did not have to walk in my Oxtar Matrix boots. 36 miles after switching onto reserve my 01 Bonnie quit while going up the I59 ramp to my destination. With the engine dead, I found neutral and entered the three lane traffic pattern following a slight downhill to the traffic signal. Ooops, it is red. Not to worry, no crosstraffic, so I maintain speed while turning right and climbing the service road incline to line up at the first pump. What Luck!
Shucks! and I wanted check the theory about having additional fuel in the right hand side of your tank.
Mike

Thanks for your, uhh, inspired research!
Saturday I did about 20 miles on reserve, so now I have an idea as to just how much I was pushing it! (Figuratively -- I didn't actually have to PUSH it!)

I have done 30 a few times........these were 180-190 mile tanks....though I did run out once at 180...... I will squeeze 200 miles out of this tank!

Did you forget to use your reserve, reserve?
keep in mind that unless you put a crossover in your tank like I did you have about 10 miles on the right side, Just tip as far over to the left as possible and slosh away. Maybe 20 miles at 35 in fourth, on level ground.

So that's an internal crossover? How did you set that up? My old Beemer uses two petcocks (right and left) which lets me run reserve on one side, then switch over to other side for a few miles extra on reserve.
