Yamaha XS1000 - Retro/prototype
Whadda ya thinkabout this one?

Also, we display the “XS-V1 Sakura” (special exhibition model / prototype) as a symbol of our long-nurtured corporate philosophy. This is a V-twin sport model with a look of “Japanese style” in the image of Yamaha’s first 4-stroke model, the XS-1 (650cc), released in 1970. Its design is full of XS-1 DNA, in its simplicity and functional beauty and finds new refinement in a retro-modern aesthetic. It is a model that proposes a very Yamaha and very Japanese vision of premium motorcycling life, bringing together the unique characteristics of a 1,000cc air-cooled, V-twin model with its strong pulse feeling and easy-going running performance in a finely crafted body that is lightweight and slim and defined by a low seat height.

Now that looks tasty
Me likey. I would definitely have to be adding that to my stable and giving it the Japanese Bratstyle treatment. I'd have to lose the 50's cocktail shaker exhaust and schwinn banana seat, but other than that...she's a beauty!
Here's something about it on MCN.

I like it too, but those huge pipes would have to be replaced with something smaller. Also I'm not sure if I like those sidecovers....

I like it, overall. The seat doesn't look to comfy, maybe just a change to black would make it look better. The exhaust pipe remind me of the ones on my '66 BMW R60. That's air cooled?? doesn't look like it has enough fins and the jugs have that water cooled look, but I don't see a radiator anyway.
The side covers neeed work, they are shaped funny...at least to me.
I wouldn't mind having one in my collection.

Oh, and I know it's popular, but the placement of the rear turn singnals are just screaming "Break me here"....IMHO

Overall, I like it. It looks like what the Sportster should look like, had it evolved properly. I have to balk, though, at the XS designation and the references to the XS-650. If they're going to try to tie-in to that legacy, they should have gone with a vertical twin, not a V.

The color's awful, but otherwise that's a sweet bike. Wonder if they'll put it into production.

I guesss I am alone on this one
But there is nothing on that thing, that is in proportion with any other thing on that thing. Kind of cafe uglay. Sorry to dissent here
